Last Few Weeks

The last few weeks we have been very busy growing, working, going to church, and just having fun.  Here are a few pictures to show you what we have been up to lately.
They are kind of in chronological order.

This is James Darren's new favorite toy.  He plays with his toes all the time!  Today he was supposed to be taking a nap and was being very quiet but come to find out he was just playing with his toes.  :)

He is learning to sit up like a big baby!  (I refuse to call him a big boy)

This is our little garden that we planted this weekend.  Darren and I worked on the "garden" while James Darren sat in his stroller.  We planted some squash and peppers.

On Sunday we took a walk to the park down the street from our house.  We are very lucky to live less than 1/2 a mile from Hickory Dickory Park, a wonderful children's park.  James Darren went down the slide for the first time.

James Darren loves to swing outside.  Actually he really loves just about everything outside.

James Darren has gotten to where he does not like to be held during his naps.  He likes to lay in his bed or the pack and play.   After he ate at church Sunday morning he started getting really sleepy.  I knew that if i tried to hold him he would wake up in just a few minutes.  So... we just laid him down.  We actually made it all the way through church!

James Darren has been drinking water a few times now.  He made the most terrible face the first few times.  He is not crying in this picture he just is unsure about the water.  I think he was really disappointed in how the "stuff" everybody else drinks tasted.

Yes, it was actually cool enough last week for James Darren to wear a jacket on one of our runs.

 Feeding himself!

Last weekend we ran the Finish on the 50 5k road race.  This was my first 5k to push James Darren in his stroller.   There were over 700 competitors that ran, that made it very difficult to run with the stroller.  I also had to stop and pour water at the water station b/c they only had one person working and it was much hotter than expected so people needed water.  Darren had a great run and came in 95th overall (yay good job Darren!).   There are no pictures of Darren because he was literally too fast for Jim to get his picture.  All in all it was a very fun day!

 The new Cam Newton statue.

The boys all dressed for Pops Birthday dinner.  James Darren's Poppy would have fit right in with these boys.

Two weeks ago I took a 1/2 day off work and James Darren and I went to eat with Darren at Filet and Vine in Montgomery.

5 Months

Sweet Baby is 5 months old today!  He is growing and changing so much every day.  It is really fun to watch him interact with people and experience new things.   He is a very happy baby most of the time and loves to smile and laugh.

Here are a few things James Darren is doing now
-          He can roll over
-          Holds his head up really well while standing, sitting, or lying on his stomach
-          He chews on everything!!!
-          He is still wearing 6 month clothes but most of them are getting pretty small
-          He smiles all the time and loves to laugh especially at his daddy
-          He talks a lot especially when he first wakes up in the morning
-          Most days the first thing I hear is him squealing in his bed
-          He also loves to go for a run – we have been running in our neighborhood and at a local park.  James Darren loves it! Sometime he will fall asleep but most of the time he just rides and watches as we go along.  We are doing our first 5k this weekend, the Finish on the Fifty.  I hope it goes well.
-          He likes to sit up in his highchair and play with his toys.
-          He also likes his exersaucer, his walker and his Johnny Jump up!

Here are just a few pictures from the last couple of days.

Easter Weekend

We had an absolutely wonderful Easter weekend!  We spent all day Saturday at the beautiful Callaway Gardens.  We enjoyed the perfect spring weather by walking around Callaway.  We have had season passes this past year and really enjoyed them.  I think we will get another pass this year.
Sunday we started the day with a wonderful Sunrise service at Ridgecrest.  The weather was very nice and we enjoyed worshiping with our family and friends on this special day.  After the service we went home for a while and cleaned up our house. Then we ate a traditional Easter dinner with ham at Agogo and Pops house.  The Easter bunny also visited James Darren!
Recently I have not done a great job of taking pictures with my camera but this weekend we put it to good use.  So, sorry but here are a lot of pictures!

So proud of Darren for spotting this beautiful water snake!

He was a good size garter snake.

Ahhh! - the perfect ride

Last weekend one of my lifetime friends got married in Nashville .  Joy (the Bride), Rachel, and I have all been friends since we were tiny babies.  It was so wonderful to see Joy so happy.  It was also very nice to get to visit with all of our old friends!  Here are a few Pictures from the wedding.

Pictures

Here are a few pictures from the last week or so.  James Darren is growing so fast I can’t believe it!  There have been multiple 6 month clothes that I have put on him one time that he will probably not ever wear again.  :(
Oh well, I am so glad to have a happy, healthy baby boy!

After an evening run, he literally fell asleep coming up the driveway!
