1 Year Photos

We had these pictures taken before Christmas right around 13 months but I am just now getting around to posting them on the blog.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Wow, how he has changed in just over a month.  In these photos he was barely standing alone. Now he is walking everywhere all the time.

Surgery

James Darren had his hypospadia correction surgery on Friday.  His was very mild and the surgery was not very invasive for which we were very thankful.  I couldn't resist taking some pictures of the sweet boy in his hospital gown.   He was so sweet and snugly after the surgery.  He does not usually snuggle so we took full advantage of the time.

Wanting his arm band off before surgery.

Check out those thighs!  His anesthesiologist couldn't get over his thick little legs.

After surgery Darren and I took turns holding and snuggling

Darren ran a 1/2 marathon Saturday morning and got a .PR.  So proud of him!

We had a very wonderful Christmas; in fact for our family it just ended on Wednesday. Here is a little run down of what we did this year.

12/24 – We stayed home most of the day and enjoyed some much needed relaxing family time.  After lunch on Christmas Eve we went to the nursing home to sing some Christmas Carols.  James Darren did really great going and seeing so many different people especially considering it was nap time! That afternoon I got my Birthday present – I joined this century and got an iPhone!!! Love it!

12/25 – Santa came!  Yay!  James Darren had a wonderful time seeing what Santa brought.  He got really excited when he saw his rocking horse.  After some sausage balls for breakfast James Darren took his morning nap and we opened some presents with my family.  James Darren did not really appreciate watching others or even opening his own gifts this year.  We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas ham with all the sides.  That evening we celebrated my Birthday!  As always my sweet mom had a cake for me that said “Happy Birthday Jami”  and gifts wrapped in birthday paper.  Oh, we also watched the third and final Lord of the Rings movie.  On Thursday (12/21) we went to see the Hobbit after that we watched each of the Lord of the Rings movies, good movies but not exactly Christmas.  We threw some Christmas movies in around there too.

12/26 – We just stayed home and enjoyed some family time!  It was wonderful.  We seriously did not leave our house all day!

12/27 – back to work for me but I got to meet my boys for lunch!

12/28 – After I got off work we headed up to Lake Guntersville to meet Darren’s family.  It rained the whole trip and we got there about bed time so it was a fairly uneventful day.

12/29 – we enjoyed the beautiful lake and cabin where we stayed.  We had “Christmas” with the May’s and enjoyed some wonderful nontraditional Christmas food – hamburgers!  Darren, Will, and I even got a game of putt-putt in!  That night the May’s stayed with James Darren and Darren and I got to enjoy the hot tub!  It was a wonderful and very relaxing trip!

12/30 – On Sunday morning it was time to leave the cabin.  Darren and James Darren went back to Flat Rock with his parents and I headed back to Auburn so I could work on Monday.   I’m not sure what all the boys did but they seemed to have a good time, I think video games were involved.  I got to enjoy a wonderful evening with my sweet sister too.

12/31 – New Years Eve!  When Sarah and I got off work we headed to Atlanta to pick up the boys.  Once we got the boys we continued heading north to North Carolina to see my grandmother and the rest of the Armstrong family.  We got to NC about eleven that night, just in time to celebrate the new year!

1/1 – Happy New Year!  James Darren got to enjoy some time playing with his cousin Silas.  That day we enjoyed the Armstrong family Christmas and had a combo traditional Christmas/New Years meal.  The baby cousins (Silas 18 months and James Darren 13 months) really enjoyed playing together.  We all had a great time visiting and catching up.

1/2 – Before getting on the road to head back to Alabama we took a walk to the river.  James Darren loved seeing the river and all the animals on the way.   He was not ready to leave!  We got all packed up and headed out about 10 just in time for James Darren to catch a short nap in the car.  We planned our trip home around a stop in Atlanta.  On the north side of Atlanta we stopped and ate lunch/dinner at Ted’s Montana Grill!  It was fabulous!  I had the fork and knife chili cheese burger.  It was a fabulous bison burger.  The food there was so good and I can’t wait to go back!

It was a fabulous fun and relaxing Christmas and a very happy New Year!!!
